Loughman Ballet Academy

 Founded and directed by Monica Loughman, The Loughman Ballet Academy offers  dancers in Ireland a unique opportunity to study Classical Ballet using the renowned Vagonova method known for it's discipline and focused attention on perfect technique.

 

Establishing her first ballet school in Drumcondra in the early 2000s, Monica Loughman was driven by a desire to create a platform for aspiring ballet dancers to enhance their classical technique and pursue a career in Professional Ballet in Ireland.

Over the years, Monica has contributed significantly to the development of the creative arts industry here in Ireland and the UK with radio interviews on the Arts and television appearances on The Late Late Show, RTE's 'Ballet Chancers', The Morning Ireland Show and The BBC's 'Big Ballet' with The Royal Ballet's Wayne Sleep.

 Irish productions of famous ballets such as Tchaikovsky's The Nutracker, Swan Lake as well as La Sylphide and Giselle, all performed by a company of Irish dancers cultivated and trained by Monica. Touring venues across Ireland, including The National Concert Hall, The National Convention Centre, as well as Theatres in both Galway and Cork.

The Loughman Ballet Academy is the Second Act of Monica's Professional Ballet Career. Monica brings an authentic and compassionate approach to teaching her students having experienced all stages what it is to be a ballet dancer. From being the youngest Irish ballet student accepted to study in Russia, graduating to become a member of the Perm State Ballet Company Corps de Ballet, progressing to Soloist and then Principal Dancer. Many former students have gone on to pursue careers in Ballet be it teaching or performing, continuing a legacy that began with Monica.

Offering children's ballet classes, beginner to intermediate and adult classes.
